It is a privilege to address you as the Principal of Asansol Girls’ College, a premier institution that has stood as a beacon of education and empowerment for young women since its inception in 1950. Rooted in the visionary efforts of Dr. Lalit Mohan Sen and Smt. Kamala Sen, the college has grown from its humble beginnings in the premises of Manimala Girls’ High School to become a vibrant center of academic excellence under the aegis of Kazi Nazrul University.
We take immense pride in our journey—marked by the pivotal leadership of Dr. Anjali Roy, whose unwavering dedication during the formative years laid a strong foundation for our institution. Over the decades, we have continually adapted to meet the educational aspirations of women in this coalfield and industrial region of West Bengal.
Our vibrant campus, enriched with the Heritage Grant of the University Grants Commission in 2001, is home to over two thousand students. Guided by a team of devoted academicians and staff, we remain committed to fostering an environment where knowledge thrives, ideas flourish, and young minds are nurtured to become dynamic leaders of tomorrow.
